PACEme Care
Care uses heart rate, sleep, symptoms, and daily activity to estimate your personal energy budget, then helps you pace through the day. You can separately choose what you see (a simpler Care view or the fuller Care Plus view) and how suggestions are handled (automatic protective changes or approval before anything changes).
Post-exertional malaise (PEM) is symptom worsening after activity that was not previously a problem. It can follow physical, cognitive, emotional or social activity, commonly begins 12–48 hours later, and can last for days or longer. Individual limits can fluctuate, so activity plans need to respect the person's current capacity rather than automatically increase it.
Most tools are built for healthy people trying to get fitter. They have no concept of energy envelopes, PEM, or post-viral dysautonomia. Care is built from first principles for post-exertional illness.

The crash arrives a day or two after the trigger. The connection is invisible in the moment.

Inputs

Continuous readings from a compatible Bluetooth monitor show when your heart rate is approaching or passing your personal limit.

Compared with your personal sleep goal. PACEme can use both a difficult night and a run of poor sleep when estimating how much energy may be available today.

Physical and mental/emotional wellbeing use 1 = bad and 10 = good. A separate long-term baseline severity rating uses 1 = very severe and 10 = mild; it describes your usual illness level over recent weeks, not how you feel today. You can also record a crash, illness, evening scores, and custom fields.

Imported from a wearable or measured with the phone camera. Changes from your own usual level can provide an early sign that your body needs a more cautious day.

Real-time step counts synced from your wearable or Health Connect. Steps are weighted against your current strictness level to deduct from your daily budget.
How PACEme Helps

Choose Mild, Moderate, Severe, or Very Severe as a starting point, then fine-tune it to reflect your current limits. You can change it later as your needs change.

A simple control for making today's plan more or less cautious. It gives you a manual way to add protection on a particularly fragile day.

PACEme responds when your recent data suggests that a more protective plan may help. Your behaviour setting decides what happens next: Care behaviour applies suitable protective changes and tells you what changed, while Care Plus behaviour waits for you to accept or dismiss them. Larger decisions always stay for you to review.

PACEme compares activity, symptoms, recovery signals and data quality across ordinary stable, improving and worsening days. Crashes add useful evidence but are not required before learning can begin. Personal adjustments are introduced cautiously, and you can review your settings at any time.
PACEme has two separate controls. The mode button on the main screen changes the amount of detail you see. The behaviour setting in App Settings decides whether suitable protective suggestions happen automatically or wait for your approval.
Care view reduces cognitive load. It focuses on today's plain-language plan, your body signal, live heart rate, and the most important next step. Detailed analysis remains available whenever you want it.
Care Plus view is for people who want to explore the numbers behind the plan. It shows the full Pace Analysis screen, detailed live heart-rate information, trends, history, and pacing controls.
PACEme can apply suitable protective changes for you, then clearly list what it has done. Decisions that are too significant to make automatically stay paused for your review.
PACEme presents suggested changes and waits for you to accept or dismiss them. Applied changes can be reviewed and, where available, reverted.
These choices can be mixed. For example, you can use the simple Care view while keeping approval-first behaviour, or use the detailed Care Plus view while allowing automatic protective changes. Suggestion behaviour does not turn off automatic Pace Point calculations or daily analysis.

Bluetooth heart-rate readings are logged continuously. Care view shows a simple live BPM and zone, while Care Plus adds the recent trend, your personal limit, and more detail about time spent above it.

A daily pacing estimate based on your illness profile and settings, then informed by recent check-ins, sleep, HRV and delayed worsening evidence when those inputs are available. Live use includes recorded heart rate and movement.

Recent load and later symptom changes are considered across multiple days. PACEme can recommend more caution when the evidence supports it, but it cannot guarantee that a crash will be predicted.

Elevated HR episodes cross-referenced with step data to classify each as stationary, minimal, light, moderate, or active. Distinguishes exertion from autonomic events.

Structured logging for medications, treatments, triggers and notes, with optional energy cost and custom categories. Entries appear in Care Log, Trends, reports and data export but do not silently change Pace Points.

Create a readable seven-day clinician report covering check-ins, capacity, activity, heart rate, pacing, symptoms and recovery patterns. Choose the automatic report day and time, then save or share the PDF through Android.

Create a ZIP containing readable CSV files and a guide to the data. API keys, AI chats, diagnostics, location and internal model data are excluded. The export is not encrypted, so it should be stored and shared carefully.

Add your own sliders to the daily check-in — brain fog, pain, nausea, PEM type. Any metric that matters to you.

Shows cautious broad guidance for the next three days and lets you check a named activity against that context. It does not promise safe activity or predict exact future Pace Points. Completed plans can be reviewed later so outcomes improve future guidance.

A conversational AI coach that analyses a bounded recent pacing summary — including pace points, sleep, HRV, symptoms and crash patterns when available — then offers optional plain-language observations. Works with supported models from Groq, Ollama Cloud, Gemini, OpenRouter, OpenAI, Anthropic and xAI.

Optional local forecast context for heat and pressure changes. Heat has stronger supporting evidence; pressure sensitivity varies more between people. Personal adjustments and next-day alerts require enough matching history and remain bounded so a short run of data cannot cause a large change.

Uses motion and heart-rate context to identify likely stationary orthostatic episodes rather than treating every high reading as exertion. The manual POTS adjustment remains available for symptom-heavy days; walking and other recorded movement still count.
The AI Pacing Coach receives a bounded summary sized for the selected provider model and gives you a plain-language analysis of supported patterns and possible next steps. Basic counts and trends are calculated on the phone. Compact/free models receive those checked facts, current local guidance and concise dated evidence containing the available check-in, Pace Points, sleep, steps, heart-rate, HRV, POTS, crash, symptom and note fields. Raw database JSON is omitted, but the model is not left blind to the person's history. Higher-detail paid routes may receive bounded recent rows.
Unlike a blank chat, the Coach has relevant recent context such as your illness profile, check-ins, Pace Points, sleep and HRV when available. It does not see your entire database and cannot override the app's local pacing result.
You bring your own AI API key. Groq, Ollama Cloud, Gemini and OpenRouter offer free-plan or free-route choices; OpenAI, Anthropic and xAI are paid API options. PACEme stores each provider's key separately. Your data goes directly from your phone to the AI service you choose, and PACEme never sees your conversation.

Summarises supported relationships in the recent data while separating measured facts from uncertainty and avoiding claims that Pace Points alone caused a crash.

Can highlight when HRV, sleep and activity changed together, without treating an association as proof of an approaching crash.

Can suggest flexible ways to split, postpone or simplify a named activity. Before a reply is shown, PACEme locally removes unsupported medication instructions, invented limits or activities, mixed-unit HRV comparisons, graded schedules and causal claims while retaining useful parts of the answer. HRV score out of 100 and HRV RMSSD in milliseconds remain separate. If nothing useful remains, PACEme shows its checked context and a flexible local plan. The Coach cannot change the local result or guarantee that an activity is safe.

Groq, Ollama Cloud, Gemini, OpenRouter, OpenAI, Anthropic or xAI. PACEme checks each provider's live catalogue and only shows compatible model families configured for bounded pacing analysis. Settings identify the recommended free and paid choices.
